Iskraemeco Drives Green AI Innovation in Energy Sector Through Enfield Project Workshop

Iskraemeco has reaffirmed its leadership in sustainable energy solutions by spearheading a two-day workshop in Brdo pri Kranju, Slovenia, focused on Green Artificial Intelligence (AI). The event forms part of the Horizon Enfield project, a European Union-funded initiative to strengthen European AI capabilities. As the lead partner in the project’s energy vertical, Iskraemeco brought together researchers, policymakers, and industry experts to examine how AI can improve energy efficiency and environmental performance. 

The Enfield project, which involves 30 partners including major research institutions and industrial leaders, is dedicated to developing AI technologies across four pillars: Green AI, Adaptive AI, Human-Centric AI, and Trustworthy AI. These innovations target several critical sectors, with energy being a primary focus. 

Also, Iskraemeco is leading efforts to create AI-driven energy solutions that lower environmental impact. The workshop addressed key areas such as predictive maintenance, advanced energy forecasting, and energy storage optimisation. These discussions aim to support the development of intelligent, eco-friendly energy systems. 

Experts from academia and the private sector shared valuable insights, showcasing real-world applications of AI and outlining strategies for integrating sustainable AI into industrial processes. The event highlighted the importance of research collaboration in shaping future energy infrastructures. 

Moreover, Iskraemeco’s contributions to the Enfield project include defining research topics for Green AI, facilitating small-scale pilot projects, providing energy datasets, and promoting partnerships between scientists and industry stakeholders. These efforts are designed to accelerate the practical adoption of AI within the energy sector. 

Notably, the workshop's findings will feed into the broader objectives of the Enfield initiative, supporting future research, informing policy decisions, and guiding the project’s upcoming open calls. Through continued innovation and collaboration, Iskraemeco aims to play a pivotal role in Europe’s transition to sustainable energy through trusted, intelligent technologies.
